West Georgia Writers Conference and Book Fair

The second annual Carrollton BookFest will be held on April 5th and 6th, 2024. We are excited to extend the Writers Conference to two days. On Friday, workshops will be offered along with a Master Class with Bren McClain. Friday evening will be a performance of work by the Carrollton Writers Guild in collaboration with the Carroll County Community Theater. Saturday morning will kick off with an interview with our Featured Author, the fabulous Rick Bragg. Presentations by best selling authors, Hank Phillippi Ryan and Deborah Goodrich Royce, will headline the theme of mystery and crime. Robert Gwaltney, winner of the Georgia Author of the Year for best first novel and Kim Conrey,named Georgia Author of the Year for Romance, will speak. These are only highlights in two days full of national and local accomplished authors.

All events are priced separately. It is a small fee for a great event. Tickets available at the door!

Rick Bragg
Rick Bragg is the author of twelve books, including the best-selling Ava’s Man, All Over but the Shoutin’ and The Speckled Beauty. He writes a monthly column for Southern Living, teaches writing at the University of Alabama, and is also a regular contributor to Garden & Gun magazine. He lives in Alabama.

Supporting the growth of new and published writers in West Georgia, the Carrollton Writers Guild hosts read and critique groups in Just Poetry, Just Prose, Just Memoir, and Just Saturday (prose, poetry and memoir).
